What should I expect?

Expect a great evening of laughter, mystery, and fun!  A couple days before the event you’ll receive the event information via email.  The event information will include the dinner menu and a character sheet that has specific clues about the murder that only you will know.

Is this a show?  Will there be actors involved?

Murder Mystery Dinner events are so much more than a traditional onstage show!  They’re what we like to call “living Clue games”- interactive events where you become a part of the mystery by gathering clues from the actors and other guests to solve the murder- much like the popular board game.

For most of the evening you will be seated and watching the action unfold.  There are a couple of times in the evening where you can get up and mingle with other guests to try to discover more clues.  But if you choose not to mingle that’s okay too.

There are several professional actors who play characters and they will guide you throughout the evening.

What will the night’s agenda be like and how long does it last?

Expect a 2.5 hour event including dinner.  Upon arriving you’ll receive a name tag, character sheet with clues, and fake money.  We’ll then review the night’s agenda so you know what to expect.  The evening of mystery will begin with a few minutes of mingling with the other actors and guests so you can gather clues.  (You can participate in the mingling portion of the night or choose not to.)

At some point a murder will take place!  Dinner will be served and then confidential files with more clues will be given out.  The evidence presentation will take place.  After more scheming, questioning, and a few surprises it will be time to solve the murder!

What should I wear?
We encourage you to wear a wild west costume (costumes make it fun for everyone involved) but it is not required.  Keep in mind that your costume can be as simple or as elaborate as you choose.

What’s for dinner?

College Street Restaurant and Pub caters the delicious three-course dinner.  The meal always includes iced tea, bread, salad, dinner, dessert, and coffee.  The dinner menu is sent via email to you a couple of days before the event.  You are welcome to bring a bottle of wine or something similar to enjoy with your meal.  Gratuities are always appreciated by the wait staff.

Should I keep my character information and clues a secret?

Other than informing people who your character is, it is important that you DO NOT discuss your character’s information with anyone else before the event starts.  If you do so, you are likely to give away secrets and spoil the mystery.

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

If plans change, please contact us immediately.  Your character may have information vital to the solution of the mystery, in which case we will need to re-assign your character.  Please note our Refund Policy: No refunds will be given if cancellation occurs within 7 days of the event.  However, a credit can be issued for a future murder mystery dinner.
