A Glimpse into the Past

Originally built in 1913 The Historic Rogers operated as the luxurious Rogers Hotel.  With its twin four-story towers, rooftop garden, and basement swimming pool heated by natural hot springs the hotel was the talk of the town. 

Throughout its history the local legend hosted Ty Cobb, Bonnie and Clyde, Frank Sinatra and a number of characters from the old west.  Several major league baseball teams (the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox, and Buffalo Bisons) used the Rogers as headquarters for spring training in the early 1900’s.


Many of the buildings original details remain intact including hardwood doors, antique light fixtures, and mosaic tile.  Even the original Otis elevator, once hand-operated, is still in use.
